Murphy Arts District
El Dorado Festivals & Events opened the Murphy Arts District (MAD) in 2017 — a vibrant Arts & Entertainment District in the heart of downtown El Dorado. The mission is to create fun, immersive experiences centered around live music, food, and community events that reflect the spirit and culture of El Dorado and South Arkansas.
The MAD Amphitheater hosts major concerts for over 7,000 guests, alongside outdoor pavilions for a seasonal farmers market. Families can enjoy the MAD Playscape and seasonal splash pad, offering free fun for all ages year-round.
The historic Griffin Auto Building has been beautifully restored and now houses the First Financial Music Hall, a premier entertainment venue with seating for more than 2,500 guests. Adjacent to the First Financial Music Hall is MAD House 101 Restaurant & Bar, serving dinner Thursday through Saturday and featuring live entertainment monthly — making it the perfect stop before a concert.
